According to ParkRecord.com, as reported originally by the Associated Press, “Kouri Richins, 33, is accused of poisoning her husband with a lethal dose of fentanyl at their home in a small mountain town near Park City, according to charging documents.”
This comes “months after Richins self-published ‘Are you with me?’ – an illustrated storybook chronicling a young boy who wonders how his deceased father remains a presence in his life.”
The charges themselves are not based on the book as an admission of guilt, but stem from “officer’s interactions with Richins that night…”
The case is complexed by the fact that her husband was seeking a divorce and had recently changed his will and life insurance policies. Now there is an estate dispute over the situation due to a prenuptial agreement.
