DoodleBob Found In 1,300-year-old Book

It’s not true that the famed “DoodleBob” animated icon from the Nickelodeon show SpongeBob Square Pants was found in a 1,300-year-old book.

Although, the drawings found by a piece of technology called Archiox do ironically look like DoodleBob, as reported by the BBC History site on February 8th, 2023 by Richard Fisher.

Evidently, the new technology can pull up images that have been scratched into the surfaces of “old books, manuscripts and printing plates.”

The DoodleBob-like drawings were found in “a copy of the Acts of the Apostles… kept in the Bodleian Library in Oxford.” It’s speculated that one drawing might be that of a nun from the abbey where the text was created.

Other things found were pieces of music, how maps were made, and even “surface textures” found in a Japanese print.
